I am sad for my country. There is far too much hate and not enough love. People are turning away from God with the result of a country going down the drain. If you read the news you know about sex scandals. It seems all of our country’s leading cultural and political institutions of society are rampant with scandal. Whether it is Hollywood, Sports, News Media, Politics, or Education, we are hearing more and more about sex scandals. No doubt these are only the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Sadly, some of the reporting amounts to no more than gossip or rumor. Other reports are no doubt true. But, whatever happened to our cherished laws and courts of law where people are innocent until proven guilty? It seems we are now a nation of gossips and mob rule, destroying innocent people lives along with those who are guilty?

Blessings From 2019
2019 closes out another year of retirement life , and it’s time for our annual Newsletter (or litany?) For those living North of us, today’s highs were in the 70’s. For those living South of us, it’s “cooler by the mile” here during the Summer! 😎
Unlike 2018, we were not “bothered” in 2019 by a hurricane. It was only a weak tropical storm. We feel blessed. That’s blessing number 1. The prior year there was much talk about Florida getting its own time zone and skipping Eastern Standard Time altogether. This year, nothing happened. But, the sun continues to rise in the East and set to the West while we are stuck with EST and DST. Oh well.

Earlier this week I walked 16,619 steps in one day. That information comes from my Fitbit tracker. I know that is a lot of steps for me. Being at EPCOT meant I was going to take many steps. Although it was fun, towards the end of the day, my feet were very tired. Based on what my wife and I read about EPCOT we made many decisions. Where to go. Where to eat. Making FastPass selections. For most of the 16,619 steps I took that day, I was not thinking about what God wants.
