It was after attending my future wife’s church a few times that I came to a decision, or a fork in the road, of my life. I understood what believing in Jesus was all about. I knew that God loved me just as I am. Indeed, God created me just as I am, deaf and hearing impaired. There are few decisions which are life altering, but believing in Jesus is one of them.
It is the most important decision one can make. I was overwhelmed with joy in knowing I was now His and belonged to Him. I only needed to confess, or tell others, that Jesus was now the Lord of my life. So I called on the name of the Lord to be saved. I was baptized by my future wife’s Pastor in a little stream not far from where we would spend more than 30 years of our lives. I joined the family of God.
After living all my life trying to be right, I now could live doing the right thing. Instead of being focused on myself, I now focused on Jesus. No longer an atheist, things in the world made more sense to me. God’s wisdom is greater than all of man’s collective wisdom. It felt right to me to belong to Him. Amen.
