Sin

I grew up not knowing I sinned and “fell short of the glory of God”.  I did not know I was “dead in sin”.  Also, I did not know of God’s gift through his Son, Jesus.  Because I was hearing impaired, even while wearing a hearing aid, I did not appreciate church.  My family took me to church.  I could not understand the Preacher from where we sat.  So I was bored with church. God’s Design

 

I was about 5 years old.  My mother and I stood at the front door to our home.  We could see, and hear, the storm.  There was lightning and thunder.  It was totally amazing that I could hear something.  I heard thunder!  I was learning I could hear some things.  Not much, but some things.  I also saw lightning and thunder as part of a world I wanted to know more about.  It gave me an interest in science, and learning how the world was made. Thorns Are Humbling

Paul is one of the leaders of the first generation of Christians.  He was an Apostle.  He was trained as a tentmaker, and as a Pharisee he persecuted Christians.  But Christ changed him on the “Road to Damascus” (1 Corinthians 9:1).  Paul went from helping to persecute Christians to becoming one of the greatest leaders of the early Church.  Continue reading
